Hello again Walter,

I agree with Bill and James that, if you want your first string to be as high as g1 (the usual pitch for string #1), then you should not choose high tension strings but rather medium/low tension strings.

Thanks James for advice, grandparents think I understood exactly what I suggest, but it is only a translation problem .. then I do not speak English and use a translator! I will try to give me a hand to a friend shod language and apply the formula that you provided me ...
I believe that you understand and should not be used for the first 6-string high tension but normal and the remaining from "I Grave" (a standard classical guitar) to get thick !!??? these high voltage? ?
greetings Walter

Sten follow the advice, what I notice is that the soundboard responds to the strong pull of the strings high tension ... I probably used too thick table top ... altoguitars being my first and then the plan is tilted to the keyboard I thought to pull a major bridge.
the stamp is good, growing wineries and strumming the agreement, I actually tends to decrease by about tuning 1 / 2 tone from the strings to fit G1proverò MV! what surprised me is just the stamp that is soft but snug, then I did not expect that the influence of the drone strings so they could enrich harmonic thinking tool box and then reduced to the form I used.
now I understand a altoguitars effective measures and make my plan to those measures, the experience was enriching for me and I can not wait to go with a second guitar for me ... this was the pretext for experience in one other news, such as holes and moved the handle and keyboard elevated to the soundboard ... I would say very interesting and powerful, now try to apply also to normal and classical guitars!
Certainly, I do not think many customers and the first since I can not even express a value, however this instrument is a plus and a charm all over.
I also hope the music in Italy could also open up these sounds I still little explored, although the culture of the lute Padua near Venice a historic home of violin making this tool is dead remain a niche interest ... I hope to be able to do little in a new wind in my part!
Greetings Walter

P.S. for luthiers I have no experience as you all about this tool I tried to follow my instinct and personal theories, the distance is great sin and the possibility of direct comparison impractical for me. are still contributing to the exchange of information on my research if you find interesting!

You asked about the action and set-up.
The first 7 strings should I think have an action like a normal classical guitar i.e. between say 3.5mm to 5mm. My guitar measures from 12th fret to underside of the string:

string 1 = 4mm
string 7 = 5mm

The remaining strings could have a higher action than this to prevent rattling.

It's a little more complicated with the remaining 4 strings because the reference fret changes. String 8 is fret 10, string 9 fret nine etc.
My guitar measures from highest point to the fret from around 5.5mm to 6mm at string 11.

Good luck

Bill

Thanks Bill, you are close enough with the first 6-string I think I might get a little on the 12th but I will go one step at a time ... hours change the strings with those less voltage!
I come from there is a firm that makes strings for bowed and plucked instruments, try to contact to see if I made a couple of sets of strings appropriate ... enough available previously followed me to harp some Celtic.
Greetings Walter

Now I try to post some pictures of the guitar fast
If not properly placed here So please move them to the appropriate or how and where to insert Notify
Thank you.
