Hannabach super low tension trebles 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 3
Checking out this chart of various brands' string tension

I decided to try Hannabach 815 super low trebles that are very close in tension to D'Addario normal tension that I had been using. I am really impressed how good the Hannabach sound on my Asturias alto guitar. In fact, I can't believe that two brands of nylon strings can be so different. I was under the assumption that nylon is nylon, but there must be ways to formulate them differently to be able to make such a difference in tone.

The Hannabach super low tension sound broad, warm, and smooth compared to the D'Addario. I will be playing a piece and come to a spot and think to myself how much richer it sounds now.

The only downside is that in the US the Hannabach are triple the cost.
