Asturias Alto Guitar 8 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello @ all

at first I like to introduce myself, my name is Andreas, I live in Göppingen/Germany and play Guitar since several years.
Mostly with only 6 strings, but a few months ago I begann to play on 11 string Guitar. I play Dowland, some Bach pieces (Suite 998) and Weiss
I bought an Orfea 10 string, made some simple changes by myself, and added the missing string. This works great, but the sound is not very good.
It has been an experiment...... to show if I can manage this. These days I startet practising the Ciacona by Weiss and it works well.
Does anybody know how to get an "Asturias" Alto Guitar. In Germany no one can help me.......... Maybe someone sells his Alto Guitar?????
Thanks
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

Welcome to this website! I hope that you will enjoy it, and that you will find useful information here.

I guess that you have already found the website http://www.asturias.jp/asturiasenglish/asturiasenglish.html
which unfortunately does not give any info about dealers or contacts. The rest of the site is in Japanese.

This website gives the address of an Asturias dealer in Manchester, England: http://www.lxdb.co.uk/guitars/asturias-guitars.php

That is how far I got on Asturias with Google.

This Swedish luthier makes good alto guitars, and his website is optionally in English: http://www.rogerstromberg.se/

Best regards,

Sten

Hi Andreas,

here is a link to an Asturias 11-string alto guitar, sold by Benelly in Holland:
http://www.benelly.nl/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=150778

Benelly is the importer of Asturias guitars for the Benelux countries.

Hello and thank you for your answers, some of your adresses I have tried, these instruments are "out of stock" in Europe....
I don`t have any problem with a used guitar, so I think I have to be patient and to look for an used one.....
Thanks Andreas

Hi again Andreas,

Here is another Swedish luthier who makes alto guitars: http://www.handcraftedguitars.se/

He is young, but at least one good musician (Nils Klöfver) has chosen an alto guitar from him. I believe that his prices are about the same as Asturias', and he should be able to deliver fairly quickly.

Most luthiers can send their products to addresses abroad.
