Britten Nocturnal 2 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi

Edin Karamazov plays Britten Nocturnal on the lute. Do you know if he plays the original version (J. Bream) or he made a transcription for lute?

Regards

Bruma,
I believe he must have made an arrangement for renaissance lute, as the original was written by Britten for guitar and dedicated to Bream, though Bream was a consultant throughout the compositional process. I have noted discussions in the UK Lute Society concerning making an arrangement for lute. This would not be difficult.
James.

Tanks Tenvec, I've asked some lute players, but no one knows.

All the Best
