Hi Glen,
I`m glad that there is another Alto player who`s practicing this beautyful piece.... :-)
I got my Alto a few moth`s ago and still I`m practicing. I didn`t understand how you are playing these bars, I do it the way I have seen on the Söllscher Video. It happens three or four times in this piece.... and for me it works....
Maybe you`d like to hear a little excerpt:

It still needs work for a few weeks, then I will take a "serious" record

Best wishes Andreas

I liked your recording very much. As far as my fingerings, they are just one way to do it. My fingerings certainly aren't necessarily the best for everyone. I haven't played this piece in a while now, but I think I found it smoother to arrive at the chord you have to barre IV in measure 20 if I also barred the previous chord, too. So you end up barring V and sliding down to barre IV.

I´m also working on this piece, i still can´t play it without making a few mistakes with my right thumb, but overall it is starting to sound decent, at least for my ears. (i´m using the 3rd string tuned to a# and my arrangement from the django tab)

Glen,
It is a good point that of using a barre for the previous chord. I wasn´t doing it that way but i´ll give it a try.

Andreas,
very nice recording, hope to hear more.
